ZUMBATOMIC® is a fun fitness program designed especially for kids aged 4 - 12 years. It combines high energy with the ZUMBA® program's rhythms (salsa, cumbia, reggaeton, merengue etc.) and games to provide a safe, effective and fun workout.
There's an emphasis on what is developmentally appropriate for kids (a 4 year old can't physically do everything a 12 year old can!), so ZUMBATOMIC® classes are usually split into two main groups. Lil Starz classes are for kids aged 4 - 7 years while Big Starz is for kids aged 8 - 12 years.
The goal is to develop a healthy lifestyle and to incorporate fitness as a natural part of children's lives, not just as a class they attend once a week. While exercise is a very important part of childhood development, ZUMBATOMIC® also considers other aspects (see below).

How is ZUMBATOMIC® different to a regular ZUMBA® class?
Let's face it - kids are not just small adults. They are still developing and don't yet understand the benefits of an active lifestyle. ZUMBATOMIC® classes have been designed specifically for kids, taking into consideration their developing motor skills and shorter attention span. So unlike an adult ZUMBA® class, there is lots of talking to walk them through the steps, and of course the moves are kid friendly. Challenging moves are simplified so that kids can feel a sense of accomplishment, without frustration. Smaller kids also learn direction such as left vs right. And last, but not least, ZUMBATOMIC® classes include games to develop their skills, keep them interested and having fun.
How long is a ZUMBATOMIC® class?Lil Starz (age 4 - 7 years) runs for 45 mins.
Big Starz (age 8 - 12 years) runs for 1 hour. | Can I watch the ZUMBATOMIC® class?Kids act differently when their parents are around, so we don't recommend that parents are present during class. We do allow time for a performance at the end of class so your kids can proudly show you what they've learned.
